Becky Acra, CMCP
Coaching Specialist
Becky has been coaching since 2000 and has developed athletes ranging in age from 3 to 18+. She holds multiple national championships both as an athlete and a coach, has mentored numerous coaches, owned and operated a competitive youth sport facility from 2005-2020, and is currently the program director at Revolution Athletics in Salt Lake City. Becky believes that as coaches we have the responsibility of teaching life through sport and is in the process of writing her first book on this topic.
Growing up in Southern California, Becky played whatever sport was currently in season. If she could compete in it, she loved it! She excelled in competitive horseback riding and soccer at a young age and developed a passion for competitive cheerleading in high school. Becky spent her high school years competing as a member of the highly successful Desert Valley Cheer Gym and was also on the Varsity competition team for Palm Desert High School her 4 years of high school.
After High School, Becky attended the University of Arizona and quickly accepted her first head coaching position for Rincon/University High School. In her short time with the Rangers, she grew their program from a sideline team to a competitive varsity program and developed relationships with athletes she still is in contact with today. Becky loved Tucson and being a Wildcat, but Hollywood was calling!
In 2003, Becky accepted an internship with the Ellen Show and relocated to Los Angeles. On her off days, she traveled home to Palm Desert to coach and choreograph for her alma mater, PDHS.
In 2005, married life took Becky to Great Falls, Montana, where she opened her competitive cheer gym,Montana Storm. From 2005-2020 the athletes and coaches from Montana Storm would prove they were a force to be reckoned with earning a multitude of national championships and competing with the best of the best. In 2019, Becky was asked to be a guest on the well-known Proactive Coaching’s Podcast, “The Greatest Coaches You’ve Never Heard Of.”
Becky credits much of her coaching success to the amazing coaches who have coached and inspired her including her own father and former professional basketball player, Lee Haven.
Through her years of coaching, Becky has dedicated herself to building high-trust and high-performance teams that operate on a culture-first basis. She has become a valuable resource to coaches of all sports and is excited to continue her work with coaches as a member of the HeadStrong Family.
