He was born and raised in Minnesota while being a three sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. His love of sport stayed with him as he attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota where he received his bachelors degree in Psychological Science along with his minor in Coaching with a basketball emphasis. While at Gustavus, he found a way to combine his passions for sport and psychology, which led him to becoming a professional in this field. Josh has also had years of youth basketball coaching experience while attaining his degrees.
While being involved in mental skills training, Josh has developed a strong background in coaching, leadership, and mindfulness. Using a mindfulness perspective, he has developed several tools and performance meditations to help athletes train their mental skills in pursuit of their peak performance. Josh has employed these tools while consulting with individuals based on certain situations and also developed a 9 step performance meditation program that helps athletes improve their awareness around the different mental skills that go into their ability to reach flow state. He has also been a part of extensive literature reviews that researched different coaching and leadership styles to formulate the best coaching strategies at different skill and age levels.
